NBC MAIDUGURI ZONE WORKSHOP ON DIGITIZATION VOTE OF THANKS BY THE ZONAL DIRECTOR, MALAM Ahmed Abdulkadir. JANUARY 12, 2017

PROTOCOL:
It gives me a lot of pleasure to stand here before you today after the conclusion of this all important workshop.
I’m filled with a sense of fulfillment and awe and I still can’t believe that this workshop has actually taken place.
If anyone had told me, as at yesterday, that this workshop would take place, I would have doubted him, because of the so many challenges we came up against.
But I thank Almighty Allah that we were able to surmount all the problems we came up against. All this was possible with the grace of God.
So let me, first of all, begin by thanking Allah for seeing us through.
When he decided to make it possible, he gave us an amiable DG, who saw its importance and promptly granted approval for the conduct of the workshop. As you know, without his approval, support and encouragement, there was no way it would have taken place. So we thank the DG and members of his management for the gracious approval, support and encouragement, in that order.
I was able to surmount the second hurdle with the help of these resourse persons, who ably took you through the process. I can’t tell you the amount of sacrifice these people made to see that this workshop succeeded.
Engr. Amana, Mr. Mark Ojiah, I owe you one.
If these people had helped me surmount the second hurdle, there is one man that helped me scale all the hurdles, and that is the Director DG’s office, Dr. Armstrong Idachaba, my friend, and my boss rolled into one. I kept on calling him, day and night, and he kept on pushing things, day and night, until there was nothing more to push. Thank you Professor.
The Deputy Director Engineering, Engr. Victoria Eke, is a member of the management, so I have already expressed my gratitude to her.
Then, again, in spite of all the enormous support I enjoyed, the workshop wouldn’t have been possible without you, the participants. We wouldn’t be addressing empty seats, would we? So I thank all of you who graced the occasion. I hope the knowledge you garnered here would stand you in good stead so that you would give your contribution to this great revolution called digitization.
My thanks go to the security agents who equally gave their support in no small measure.
I also thank gentlemen of the press and all others who I haven’t mentioned specifically.
Finally, I thank all my staff who gave their best. Without them, it would have been impossible for me to singlehandedly handle such an enormous task.
Although I just said a final thank you, it can’t be complete without thanking the state Governor, Kashim Shettima, for everything, the Information Commissioner, Borno State, Dr. Mohammed Bulama and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of information, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Dankoli, for their support.
I wish everybody a safe journey back home.
Thank you.
