Useless Airline

I don't think I've ever seen a less than useless Airline than Sudan Airways. Even Arik Airline, with all its faults, couldn't hold a candle to them.

Today, January 19, 2017, at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, some of their staff simply melted into thin air when it became clear that they may not escape the wrath of commuters who were billed to fly to Khartoum, Sudan, aboard their aircraft.

This same flight was booked and the booking confirmed days, perhaps months ago. It was supposed to have taken off last Wednesday, January 11, 2017, but eight days after they did not fly. They went as far as issuing boarding passes to passengers yesterday and told them to be at the airport as early as 6:00am today.

Hours later, it became evident that it was yet another failed promise. When the passengers became agitated, the officials of the airline simply disappeared.

What's even more annoying is their lack of courtesy and dishonesty. They never offered any explanation nor apologized for their disgraceful handling of passengers.

Many of us whose children were billed to fly in that plane were left with no choice but to purchase another ticket for them from another airline, for fear that they may miss a lot in school that might be problematic for them, especially as medical students.

I think this kind of ill treatment of passengers by foreign airlines can only be condoned in Nigeria.

Now whether they'll refund the money for that flight remains to be seen.

But just for the record, even if I was mad, desperate, stuck and lost in a desert island, Sudan Airways would be the last thing I'd ever fly. And I advise all who care to listen to keep clear of that airline.

I doubt if I'll ever forgive that airline for the trauma my daughter, Mauludatu Ahmad and I went through in the last eight days. Not to talk of the money I'd probably lose if they don't refund my money.
