PROTECTION AGAINST COVID-19

I wonder why most Nigerians find it very difficult to observe the simplest form of self protection against the dreaded novel COVID-19.

today I attended a funeral where hundreds of people also attended, but as far as I could see, I was, probably, the only one wearing a face mask, let alone social distancing. Thank God for the mask, only very few people recognized me, so I needn't shake hands with many people.

Although it was highly unlikely that the deceased died of the pandemic, since there was no reported case of the virus throughout the local government and even neighboring local government areas, there's no harm if people started getting used to taking these simple preventive measures.

These massive enlightenment campaigns are, obviously, failing to achieve the desired change of lackadaisical attitude, even among the enlightened.

May Allah have mercy on the departed and save the world from this pandemic.
