Deaf-Mute

I was moved to tears by a situation that was touching a few months ago, when I accompanied some friends on a condolence visit. 

The deceased was a man from a village in Danja Local Government Area, Katsina State, who was accidentally knocked down and killed by a car while he was riding his bicycle. 

What's so pathetic about the situation was that the deceased was deaf and dumb; both his two wives were deaf and dumb; two of his daughters were deaf and dumb and he had a deaf and dumb brother. OMG! 

He was returning from a meeting of the deaf and dumb association, being the chairman of that association when he met his untimely death. 

No one knew who he was at the time the unfortunate incident occurred but, fortunately, his identity was established when his identity card was found in his pocket.

May Allah have mercy on him.
