Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, APC Katsina Gubernatorial Candidate
The Katsina State Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda says he will establish three special model secondary schools in the state, if he becomes the governor.
He disclosed this at a special forum where he addressed a combination of associations of staff of higher institutions in Katsina State. The associations include the Joint Consultative Forum for Katsina State Tertiary Institutions and the Coalition of Academics for Development at the auditorium of the Umaru Musa Ƴar'Adua University, Katsina.
According to Dr. Radda, the schools, which would be established one each in the three senatorial districts, will mainly target brilliant less privileged children who will be given the opportunity to acquire quality education.
Dr. Radda debunked the rumor that he would sack teachers when elected, saying he would rather train and retrain them for better output.
On the economy, he said he would improve the internally generated revenue of the state and block leakages using technology. He also revealed that he would establish a ministry or a commission for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, to rejig the economy.
Dr. Radda added that he would attract windows from our foreign partners for the Micro Finance Banks in the state that would boost MSMEs.
On insecurity, the APC candidate said he planned to engage youths who would be trained and attached to security agents to assist in fighting banditry.
Those who accompanied Dr. Radda at the occasion included his running mate, Faruk Lawal Joɓe, the Director-General of the Katsina APC Campaign Council, Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua, the Director, Media and Publicity of the APC Campaign Council, Ahmed Abdulkadir and a host of other important dignitaries.
