Katsina PDP Suffers Mass Defection Few Days To Gubernatorial Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has received over 10,000 defectors from the PDP a few days to Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

Similarly, decampees from four other political parties that include NNPP, PRP, LP and ADC have also been received by the APC.

The Director General Katsina State APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, revealed this  at a news briefing on Tuesday in Katsina.

According to the DG, prominent among the defectors from PDP who were received by the State Governor longside the State Chairman of the APC, and other APC officials at Government House, were Sarkin Aiki Alhaji Idi Kwado, former Chairman Kaita LGA and Special Adviser to the  former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Lawal Ibrahim Ɗankaba and former PDP National Vice Chairman North West, Bishir Tanimu Dutsinma.

Others are one-time Commissioner in Shema's administration, Jamilu Mamman Abubakar Danmusa, member PDP Elders Committee and former PDP Senatorial aspirant, Hajiya Gimbiya Aisha Isa Katsina, former VC Katsina LGA Abdulwahab Sani Store and former Chairman Zango LGA, Tijjani Awwalu Mabo, among others.

Decampees from other parties, according to Ɗangiwa, include the State Deputy Governorship Candidate of the NNPP,  PRP Chairmen of the 34 LGAs, LP, ADC and ZLP Governorship Candidates.

Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, therefore, expressed confidence that the APC was becoming stronger than expected and expressed hope that the party would win next Saturday's elections.

The Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Ya'u Umar Gwajogwajo, and that of Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua, and Members of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Katsina APC Campaign Council witnessed the event.
