The APC in Katsina State has denied inducing voters with palliatives.
The Director-General of the Katsina State All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, made the denial while fielding questions at a Press Conference organized by the party's campaign council.
It could be recalled that the Katsina State Director-General of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Council, Mustapha Inuwa made the allegation at a Press Conference a few days ago.
According to Arch. Ɗangiwa, it was Katsina state government out of sympathy that decided to assist people with palliatives to cushion the hardship being experienced, but not the APC as insinuated by the PDP.
He added that the distribution of the palliatives started before the Presidential election but coincided with the exercise.
Ahmed Dangiwa pointed out that Allah SWT had ordained that the APC would win the election which produced Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria's next President.
He said APC was conducting its affairs in accordance with extant laws and must not be seen to be flouting the laws like some retrogressive parties do, adding that the APC is a pacesetter and must show good examples for others to follow.
"That's why we will not dignify anyone with an answer when he makes wild and frivolous allegations against us. We, therefore, advice anyone who feels aggrieved to avail themselves of the various channels of seeking redress and not engage in petty issues that have no foundation in truth."
The DG pointed out that APC was not unmindful of a veiled threat by the opposition party, saying that anyone who foments trouble, will run foul of the laws of the land and the security agencies will know what to do with him. He maintained that APC was law abiding as witnessed throughout its campaigns, unlike some of its opponents.
He said Katsina State was the third in providing majority votes for the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, nationwide.
The DG acknowledged the efforts of security agencies, INEC officials and journalists towards the success of the election.
He expressed gratitude to people of the state and other Nigerians for giving their mandate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC to rule the country.
He especially applauded the contribution of women and youths who voted massively for the success of the APC in the Presidential election.
He, therefore, appealed to people to come out en mass and vote for APC Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Dikko Umar Radda and other contestants from the party who are the Candidates to beat in the forthcoming Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.
Also at the press conference were the Katsina State APC Deputy Gubernatorial candidate, Faruk Lawal Joɓe, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua, that of Information, Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirika, the Deputy DG Operations of the APC Campaign Council, Jabiru Salisu Tsauri and members of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Campaign Council.
