Empowerment Initiative by Bakori/Ɗanja Federal Representative Benefits 112 Youths

Honorable Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, Member, Representing Bakori/Ɗanja Federal Constituency

Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, the House of Representative Member for the Bakori/Ɗanja Federal Constituency, has successfully sponsored an empowerment initiative that provided training to 112 local youths.

This initiative is part of the constituency projects he endorsed in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) and BNP Resources Limited.

Alongside the training, each participant received a startup grant and cash assistance aimed at launching Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The training focused on Digital Transformation and Online Journalism Skills for Social Media Users, equipping participants for self-sufficiency. As part of the startup support, participants were provided with advanced tablets or laptops to facilitate their business endeavors.

One of the resource persons that conducted the training was Ahmed Abdulkadir, a prominent journalist and Chairman of the Katsina State Radio and Television Service Board, as well as the Managing Director and CEO of Broadsphere Ventures Limited. He was invited by his long-time friend and classmate, Abdullahi Dabai, to share his expertise in Online/Digital Journalism Skills tailored for social media users.

During the closing ceremony of the three-day training, Honorable Abdullahi Dabai encouraged attendees to leverage the skills acquired to achieve self-reliance. He urged social media users to apply their training responsibly, emphasizing that he has additional empowerment programs planned for the constituency.

He has also provided scholarships to students and distributed fertilizer to farmers, furthering his commitment to community welfare.

Previously, Abdullahi Dabai has organized various empowerment programs, including training on soap and pomade production, during which participants received financial support to establish their businesses.

The initiative brought together participants and resource personnel from across all political affiliations in the region, reflecting an inclusive approach to community development. The participants were presented with certificates by the organizers, BNP Resources Limited, at the end of the programme.

The programme was conducted at the premises of the Business Apprenticeship Training Center, Ɗanja, Katsina State, Nigeria.
