A Press Release signed by a member of the NSCC Goodwill Ambassador's Group Dr. Danladi Bako, OON, says the announcement was made by Dr. Emem Omokaro, the Director General of the NSCC, during a Media and Entertainment Roundtable event held on Thursday night in Abuja.

The event, which attracted a diverse audience, marked the inauguration of a committee comprised of retired media veterans aged 60 and above, designated as Goodwill Ambassadors for the NSCC. In her address, Dr. Omokaro emphasized the Center's mission and called upon Igho and his fellow ambassadors to champion the cause of senior citizens through advocacy, the protection of their rights, the pursuit of social justice, and the promotion of a supportive and nurturing environment for aging individuals.

Dr. Omokaro highlighted that this initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, urging the ambassadors to leverage their influence and goodwill to raise awareness and foster acceptance of the NSCC's objectives among the wider public.

The following day, a formal investiture ceremony took place, where Igho and other goodwill ambassadors, including actor Chika Okpala (known as Zebrudaya from NTA's Masquerade), former Director General of the National Orientation Agency Alhaji Idi Farouk, and renowned actress Joke Silva, were honored by Dr. Salma Anas, the Special Adviser to the President on Health. The ceremony was attended by notable senior citizens, including Wakilin Adamawa Alh Hassan Adamu, retired Permanent Secretary Dr. Agari, and Dr. Stella Dorgu.

The carefully selected Goodwill Ambassadors, representing a range of professions from journalism to entertainment, expressed their admiration for Dr. Omokaro's commitment and vigor.
