Katsina State Radio Bids Farewell to Retiring Staff in a Special Send-off Ceremony

On Monday, November 11, 2024, the Katsina State Radio and Television Service Board held a heartfelt send-off ceremony for ten dedicated staff members who recently retired. The event, attended by distinguished guests and colleagues, showcased the significant contributions of these individuals to the broadcasting service.

Chairman of the Board, Malam Ahmed Abdulkadir, expressed his deep appreciation for the retiring staff, highlighting their years of unwavering commitment and service to Katsina State Radio. "Your legacy will always be remembered, and your influence will continue to inspire us all," Abdulkadir stated, urging the retirees to embrace this new chapter of their lives with pride.

The ceremony also marked the introduction of the new General Manager, Malam Lawal Attahiru Bakori, a veteran broadcaster and former staff member. Abdulkadir commended Bakori's leadership and vision, expressing confidence that his experience will lead to positive changes and a renewed sense of purpose for the station.

Ahmed Abdulkadir

Ahmed Tijjani Abdulkadir is a seasoned media executive, journalist, teacher, entrepreneur, and public servant with over 35 years of distinguished experience in broadcasting, media regulation, public communication, and education. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Katsina State Radio and Television Service Board and holds several leadership positions in the private sector. He is the Chairman of Namowa MediaHub and Barau & Namowa Agro-Allied and General Services, as well as the Managing Director of Broadsphere Ventures Limited and Managing Director of FASAB Foods Nigeria Ltd. Mr. Abdulkadir holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano, and a Bachelor of Education (Language Arts) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also possesses professional qualifications in journalism and broadcasting from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja, NTA Television College Jos, and The Thomson Foundation/British Council, and a Certificate in Digital Journalism (Reuters/Meta Journalism Project).
