Successful Operation Eliminates 53 Criminals in Katsina State

In a major victory against banditry, a joint operation by the Nigerian Army and Air Force successfully eliminated 53 criminals in Katsina State. The operation, which took place on February 17, 2025, targeted the hideout of the notorious bandit leader, Kamilu Buzaru, and his gang at Dargaza Hill in Danmusa Local Government Area.

The Katsina State Government commended the bravery and professionalism of the Joint Task Force, comprising personnel from the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force. The government praised the exceptional coordination between the two forces, highlighting the precision airstrike conducted by NAF aircraft, followed by a meticulous ground sweep by the troops.

Dr. Nasir Muazu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who issued a press release revealing this, expressed the government's unrelenting support for the security forces in their mission to restore peace and stability across the state. He also urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely information to aid in the ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal activities.
