In a significant move to address the escalating cost of food, Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Radda has officially launched the Runbun Hatsi initiative from the Katsina State Secretariat. This program, spearheaded by the Katsina State Government, is designed to stabilize and reduce food prices by enhancing the accessibility of essential grains to the public.
The Runbun Hatsi initiative focuses on the direct procurement and distribution of staple food items such as maize, millet, and rice at subsidized rates. By increasing the supply of these essential commodities in the market and ensuring their affordability, the program aims to alleviate the financial burden on households and support local farmers. This effort is part of a broader government strategy to tackle the economic challenges faced by residents due to inflation and supply chain disruptions.
To ensure the success of the initiative, the government has collaborated with key stakeholders, including cooperatives, traders, and community leaders.
